Nigeria university hires "snake charmers"


Umaru Musa Yar’Adu'a University in Kastina ,one of the  leading universities in northern Nigeria has hired "snake charmers" to rid the campus of snakes after a student died from snake bites.


The dean of student affairs at Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University, Suleiman Kankara, confirmed the presence of " snake charmers" on campus following the death of final year Economics student Zainab Umar.


There about 10,000 snake bite incidents  in Nigeria every year, but the exact death toll is unknown.
